Koroneiki es una “disertación poético-musical que nos delata”, también es un “teatro humano que suena”, o quizás es “política sobre el suelo y las personas”. Este trabajo que se estrenó en Jaén el 20 de enero de 2024 nos habla sobre la ecología y la vida en las “geografías repetidas” a partir de la voz de una joven.

[SINOPSIS] El futuro y el porvenir de las zonas rurales está en grave peligro. Los cultivos intensivos avanzan en la industrialización y la mecanización convirtiéndose en terrenos superexplotados. Por otro lado, la ciega ambición del señor de las tierras amarrada a la evolución del capitalismo, sucumbe a las necesidades del mercado: aumentar la producción para subsanar el hiperconsumo y llenarse los bolsilllos. Mientras tanto el planeta avisa, las sequías están aquí para quedarse. ¿Hasta cuándo podremos mantener este sistema?. Un padre y una hija debaten sobre su futuro en esta tierra. Cuál es el duelo de ver la decadencia de nuestro paisaje.

Koroneiki is a «poetic-musical dissertation that betrays us,» a «human theater that sounds,» or perhaps «politics about the land and the people.» This work, which premiered in Jaén on January 20, 2024, speaks to us about ecology and life in the «repeated geographies» through the voice of a young woman.

[SYNOPSIS] The future and fate of rural areas are in grave danger. Intensive farming advances in industrialization and mechanization, turning into overexploited lands. On the other hand, the blind ambition of the landowner, tied to the evolution of capitalism, succumbs to the market’s demands: increasing production to satisfy hyperconsumption and line their pockets. Meanwhile, the planet is warning us, droughts are here to stay. How long can we maintain this system? A father and daughter debate their future on this land. What is the grief of witnessing the decay of our landscape?
